ציורי תעופה וטייסים – יצחק ניר, צייר וטייס קרב

Yitzhak Nir was a fighter pilot in the Israeli Air Force and later a pilot at El Al, and painted throughout those years. This page brings together his aviation and pilot paintings: portraits of Air Force pilots – Colonel Yaakov Agassi, General (Ret.) Giora Rom, Brigadier General Ran Peker, Menahem Eyal, Eitan Carmy, ‘Mann’, ‘Oti’ and ‘Asher’ – and landscapes featuring aircraft: ‘Saarim’ over She’ar Yashuv, ‘Longbows’ over Jaffa, ‘Boeing 737 over Flackl’ and ‘Mosquito over the Negev’.

At the centre of this subject is ‘When your enemy falls’ (2011), born of an air battle Nir fought in a Mirage during the War of Attrition, alongside ‘The pilot’s halo’, ‘Changing career’ and ‘The breakfast after the flight’.
